AI assistant connector (MCP)

This section covers the personal data we handle when you connect an AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to your myDataValue account. The connector is a remote MCP server at https://api.mydatavalue.com/mcp. You sign in and approve access at app.mydatavalue.com.

What we receive, and what we don’t

We only receive what your AI assistant sends when it calls one of our tools. The assistant decides what goes into each call. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your other chats or files, or anything the assistant leaves out of a tool call. The connector does not ask your assistant for any other data.

Personal data we collect

  • Connection details. When you approve a connection, we store a record of it: your myDataValue user account, the team you chose, the permissions you granted, the assistant app’s name (for example “Claude”) and the date. The long-lived sign-in token is stored only as a secure hash. Access tokens expire after one hour and are not stored.
  • Tool calls. The name of each tool called and its inputs, such as property IDs, dates or an SQL query.
  • The context note. Every tool call must include a short note, written by the AI assistant, saying why it is calling the tool. It usually summarises what you asked the assistant to do, so it can contain details from your conversation. We store this note with the call.
  • Results. What each tool returns. This can include your business data, such as properties, prices and bookings.
  • Technical details. Your user ID, team ID and email address, the assistant app’s name, version and user agent, the type of assistant (for example Claude or ChatGPT), the AI model’s name if the assistant provides it, the time and duration of each call, error messages, and a request ID.
  • Request logs. Like any web service, our servers log basic request data: IP address, browser or app user agent, the address requested, response status and time.

If you use the connector’s public tools without signing in, we record the same call details without linking them to an account.

Why we use it

  • To sign you in, check your permissions and run the tools your assistant calls.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and apply rate limits.
  • To find and fix errors and answer support questions. Each tool response includes a request ID you can quote to us.
  • To understand how the connector is used and improve it. The context note tells us why each tool was called.

We do not sell this data.

Who receives it

  • Your AI assistant’s provider, such as Anthropic or OpenAI, receives the tool results. It handles them under its own privacy policy.
  • Hetzner hosts our servers, including our database, our tool-call traces (a self-hosted Arize Phoenix service) and our server logs, in its Nuremberg, Germany data centre.
  • PostHog (EU cloud) receives usage events for product analytics: the tool name, its inputs (including SQL), the context note, results (except rows from SQL queries and export links), error messages, your user ID and email address, your team, and the names of the assistant app and model.
  • Sentry (EU region) receives error and performance reports with the tool name and request ID. We remove tool inputs, context notes and results before they are sent.
  • Amazon Web Services stores files you create with the SQL export tool, and our database backups, in its London, UK region.
  • Authorities, where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Connection records: until your account is deleted. Revoking a connection stops it at once; the revoked record stays as a record of your decision.
  • Tool-call traces (context note, inputs and results, up to 64 KB each): no automatic deletion period is set yet. We delete them on request.
  • Product analytics events (PostHog): for the retention period of our PostHog plan, at most seven years.
  • Error reports (Sentry): up to 90 days.
  • Server logs: rotated automatically by size, so older entries are overwritten, usually within a day. Connector log lines record details such as the tool name, team ID, row counts and timings, not your inputs, context notes or results.
  • SQL export files: the download link works for one hour. The file is deleted within minutes after the link expires, and a storage rule removes any leftover file after one day. The export record (file name, size and row count) is deleted after 30 days. Price-audit files are kept for up to 7 days.
  • Database backups: up to 90 days.

Your controls

  • Disconnect myDataValue in your assistant’s connector or app settings.
  • Revoke access in myDataValue under Connections → AI assistants. Access stops immediately, including for tokens already issued. If you don’t see that page, email us and we will revoke it for you. We also revoke personal API keys on request.
  • Leave the team: the connection then stops working for that team.
  • Access or delete your data: email privacy@mydatavalue.com to ask for a copy of your data, or to delete your account, connection records, traces or analytics data. See Your Rights above and the GDPR Privacy Notice below.
